Nice, solid rock tune.

I enjoyed it very much.
Especially dig the organ. That was a great touch.

Nice guitar parts too. You've got some talent, for sure.
Keep practicing and you could be great.

I love the sound of your rythm guitars. What gear are you using?

If I had to have one gripe, it would be that 5 minutes is a bit too long for a song with no variation to it's core.
Not that it was boring, by any means, just a bit too long for it's own good.

Check out some of my submissions too.
I'd say the older stuff, like 'Soundtrack of Life' and 'Vanilla Skies' would
be best suited for you, since I stopped doing real guitar soloes lately,
in favor of more melodic pop songs...

Thanx for the review! I know it's lengthy, i got carried away a little. I'm using a Washburn Rouge Star w/ two double coil pick ups and a single, a laney 100watt amp, the bass is a lame samick bass and i use garageband's virtual amps for this one. I record my stuff on garageband and i write midi parts w/ cakewalk express. Thanks again for the review, i'll check ur stuff too.

Sigh...

Buy an electric guitar, and learn to play it.
"Synthetic" rock is almost worse than
regular electronica, with very few (but admittingly, good) exeptions.

bearwasdead responds:

Ok, first off, i own an electric guitar. second, i know how to play it pretty damn well. and third, i dont have any type of recording device, thats why this is synth'd.

Catchy

Somehow reminds me of that old
song "Gone Away", by The Offspring.

Anyways, it's nice listening to.
Cool little melody.
A bit monotonous, and the drumloop
got annoying after a while, but it's
so short that neither is a real problem.
Also, solo was a little "meh".
Wasn't aweful, but you know...

Smokinggun64 responds:

Ya I wrote this before I even heard Gone Away but when I did I found out the chorus was almost exactly the same and so where the verses.

I think...

...that you should put this (and your other song)
out under the appropriate electronica genre listings,
as people will probably love them there.

It's a nice song, with plenty of variation and
a catchy melody, so I'm sure you would
get lots of love if you posted it
in the correct place.

Going into the rock sections without an
electric guitar (a real one, not a digital sound font) pretty
much puts you at a disadvantage from the get-go.
A few people have pulled it off, but they are
the exceptions that confirm the rule.

Excellent

That was brilliant, as always with you guys.

Thanks a hell of a lot man. Here are the lyrics for those who need to sing along.

Eternal Slave

Rise up from your sacred ground
In the dark, hardly make a sound
The fog swirls, now its time to kill
A tortured soul you take at will

For your enemy has no way
To stop the dead from their Killing day
We will not die because we're already dead
Not even legend to be shot in the head

No way hope
Pick your Day
Ends your life
To become Eternal Slave!!

I waited for you to attack, but then I ate your flesh!
The hunger drives insanity and makes the dead unrest
You gave your soul to an army of eternal black
Now the mark on you is set, there is no turning back!

All of you will become the damned
There ain't no future for you to stand
Not a thought runs through your head
Only hunger and darkness instead

No way hope
Pick your Day
Ends your life
To become Eternal Slave!!

I waited for you to attack, but then I ate your flesh!
The hunger drives insanity and makes the dead unrest
You gave your soul to an army of eternal black
Now the mark on you is set, there is no turning back!

Excellent

Newgrounds needs more classical singers,
such as yourself.
Also, I'm very pleased to hear something
other than all the electronic dreck that
the Audio Portal is flooded with.
Simple and melodic. It's brilliant.

Confused and bitter. Please leave a message after the beep.
